We have been writing blogs on our website for many long but This is going to be our first blog on our website coming directly from the founders of Tailored Jeans.
With heavy heart we like to tell the world how it feels and what is happening and challenge we are facing at this stage.
we have been in business of making Custom Made Jeans since 1996, having deep roots in expertise, experience and trust, yet as per google we are not. though we were for almost 6-7 years when we used to rank for almost all custom jeans / tailored jeans / tailor made jeans / custom made jeans / custom fit jeans / custom jeans usa and custom jeans for men | women and many other variants on top 3 position 90% of those were 1st position.
and reason we were on the top because we were trust worthy, we provided good service, and 60% of customers were repeat and regular customers, unlike our competitors who bloat their websites with fake reviews, which are manipulated by them on their own website, we choose Trusted Thirdparty Review Platform, we openly invited all our customers to write reviews once they receive our service/product and good or bad we encouraged them, many people wrote those reviews, not all customers the ratio is like 10-15% of our buying customers were responding to invites sent via Trust Pilot when their order gets delivered. this makes our reviews most genuine and truth, which builds trust. we had mixed reviews, bad , excellent few good as in custom made jeans, either there is good or bad experience but there is no in between, so you can see polarised reviews, many happy customers didn't posted reviews as they are busy with their life, or they opted out from trustpilot and hence they didn't received invite still we managed to get good number of reviews and overall it was positive
we used to write good informative, casual aswell as trending blogs , and Tailored Jeans have recognised as brand, many publications praise our writing and showcased us in past
and there comes our competitors who used to copy our content, spin it , even use our images and put their own brand photo and post it as their own, even sometime they used to predate those post to look like it was written well before time and been there for long time, They used to use our Brand Name in their post / content like They are "Tailored Jeans" or want to get tweaked to top using our name, even posted titles like "Tailored Jeans by Their brand name" or other phrases which confuses people like they own "Tailored Jeans"
and then somewhere in 2023 google changed their algorithm , AI has came in market, and industry started to change drastically, we started seeing change in ranking anamolies and silently many of our keywords were moving, shuffling going down and back up almost 5 times a day sometime , no body knew what was happening, AI was next big thing, and I guess even before people learnt google have had started using AI to build their ranking strategy
over the period of 1.5 years we have seen drastic decline from top 3 to being hardly in top ten due to unknown factors, and recently we learn that google had used our content to make learn their AI and reduced our organic traffic by 95% not only that, they show our brand in side panel, shows our product images and details, payment methods, and even our trust score, but not put our link, instead they showcase other competitors
We tried many things improving our content, seo, even updating disavow files with potentially toxic website, and many thing among all, improving and human written blog, original content with detailed understanding, yet our ranking were going down everytime we update something, and guess what, google was using our own content , and use it for AI generated search result, but choose not to show that post in the search result, we can see in their link section which posts they used to summarise the search answer, but those post not even once were being displayed in other results
so we decided to use AI to understand what is happening, we used Gemini's Deep Research to understand what is happening, we have asked to review, get more information, and even used AI's help to rewrite our SEO like title and all, but nothing was working.
and it came to the stage that we are now not even ranking even on on first 5 pages on google for USA
So we decided to dug deep, and day before yesterday we came to know that some how google has understood that and Linked the connection that TAILORED JEANS is owned by one competitor company operating under name "Make Your Own Jeans" and have not so good reputation in market and have no trust profile and operates under pseudo name and owned by some entity named harry fashion and also made conclusion that harry fashion owns "Make your own jeans" "Tailored Jeans" and also link to other competitor named "Made to order jeans" and they are under same umbrella of "Harry Fashion LLP" and this entity have many other website which operates under different names / domain / website and all of those have earned not so good reputation that on public review websites you will find people bashing them out of their frustration, yet on their own website you will find hudreds of self written reviews , all 5 star, but in real world not so good. And google have made so strong connection that they wiped out our Trust & Authority Index completely in drain and all decades of good will and hardwork has gone to gutter
and Gemini has even found that many of our trustpilot verified reviews for our website are also found same as it is on their websites so it has made strong connection that infact "Tailored Jeans" is infact owned by them and hence it is strong signal to remove our trust and authority
And now as a result of this Wrong AI assessment and being victim of AI based brand association by Google, we have been almost kicked out of organic reach, resulting in losses in revenue as we are heavily dependent on Organic Sales, and never believed in PPC (which is infact been practiced by that specific competitor with whom our brand have erroneously associated by Google's Algorithms) Not only that we cant even tell Google that he has made mistake, because there is no one to talk with, its all Algorithm, we cant do anything But we are writing this Blog to let Google know, that your excessive use of AI in search resukt have killed many business like us, directly by stealing our content to summarise the search result query answers, and not passing user back to our website, and you know that AI can be wrong still choose to do it, and still dont pass customers/visitors to the source, and by also making wrong connection using your deep research to wipe out authority of trusted brand, and remove altogether from face of internet. We want Google and their Gemini AI and whatever their Search Engine Algorithm to know that they are wrong, and hopefully they will correct themself and improve on making such connections without facts and truth, as it is not Game, these are our two cents on this . pen down
While we've maintained a blog on our website for years, this particular post marks a significant first: it comes directly from the founders of Tailored Jeans.
It is with a heavy heart that we address the world today, to shed light on the profound challenges and realities we are currently experiencing.
We have proudly been in the business of crafting Custom Made Jeans since 1996, building deep roots in expertise, experience, and trust within our community. Yet, according to Google, our established legacy seems to have vanished. This is a stark contrast to the almost 6-7 years when we consistently dominated search rankings, appearing in the top 3 for nearly every relevant term – from 'custom jeans' and 'tailored jeans' to 'custom fit jeans USA' and specific searches for men's and women's custom jeans. Indeed, for 90% of those terms, we held the coveted #1 position.
Our consistent top rankings were a direct reflection of our trustworthiness, exceptional service, and a loyal customer base, with 60% being repeat buyers. Unlike competitors who inflate their online presence with fabricated reviews on their own platforms, we committed to transparency by utilizing a trusted third-party review platform like Trustpilot. We proactively invited all our customers to share their honest feedback, whether positive or negative, upon receiving their product or service. While not every customer responded – typically 10-15% of those invited via Trustpilot after order delivery – the reviews we received were undeniably genuine and built authentic trust. Our feedback was naturally polarized, reflecting the 'either good or bad' nature of custom-made jeans, with little in-between. Despite many satisfied customers not leaving reviews due to busy lives or opting out of Trustpilot communications, we still garnered a significant number of responses, maintaining an overwhelmingly positive overall sentiment.
Beyond our product, our content strategy was equally robust. We consistently published informative, engaging, and trending blogs that resonated with our audience. As a result, Tailored Jeans earned recognition as a reputable brand, with numerous publications praising our writing and featuring us prominently in the past.
On top of all this, we've faced some truly unfair tactics from competitors. They've copied our original blog posts, changed just a few words, and even taken our product photos to put their own brand on them. What's worse, some have tried to trick search engines by making it seem like their copied content was published long before ours. They've also deliberately used our brand name, "Tailored Jeans," in their own articles and titles – like "They are 'Tailored Jeans'" or "Tailored Jeans by [Their Brand Name]" – which deeply confuses customers and makes it seem like they own our brand.
Then, around 2023, everything changed. Google altered its algorithms, and Artificial Intelligence burst onto the scene, drastically reshaping the entire industry. We began to see strange shifts in our rankings – our keywords would move, shuffle, drop, and then bounce back up, sometimes several times a day. No one seemed to understand what was happening. AI was clearly the next big thing, and it felt as though Google had already started using it to guide their ranking strategies, even before the wider world fully grasped its implications.
Over the past year and a half, we've experienced a drastic decline, plummeting from consistent top-3 rankings to barely appearing in the top ten, all due to factors we couldn't pinpoint. Recently, we've come to understand that Google has utilized our hard-earned content to train its AI, which has, in turn, slashed our organic traffic by a staggering 95%. To add insult to injury, Google's side panels now display our brand name, product images, details, payment methods, and even our trusted score, yet they fail to provide a direct link to our website. Instead, they direct users to our competitors.
In response, we tirelessly tried everything: improving our content, refining our SEO, even updating disavow files to address potentially harmful backlinks. We focused on creating more human-written, original blogs with detailed insights. Yet, with every update, our rankings continued to fall. It became clear that Google was using our very own content to generate AI-powered search results. The most frustrating part? While Google's AI would summarize answers using information from our posts (and even list our posts in their "link section" as sources), those same posts were never actually displayed in the main search results. We were providing the answers, but Google was sending users elsewhere.
Desperate to understand and adapt, we even turned to AI ourselves, specifically using Gemini's Deep Research. We asked it to review our situation, gather more information, and even help us rewrite SEO elements like titles. But no matter what we tried, nothing seemed to work. It felt like we were fighting an invisible force, and our efforts to use AI to solve the problem only highlighted its complexity, as Google had seemingly already integrated AI into its core ranking strategy.
And now, the situation has worsened to the point where we no longer rank on even the first five pages of Google for searches within the USA.
Our recent investigation, just yesterday, using Gemini's AI Deep Research, uncovered a shocking issue: Google seems to have mistakenly linked "Tailored Jeans" to a competitor called "Make Your Own Jeans." This company doesn't have a good reputation, lacks real customer trust, and appears to be run by a group called "Harry Fashion." Google has even gone so far as to suggest that "Harry Fashion" owns not only "Make Your Own Jeans" but also "Tailored Jeans" and another competitor, "Made to Order Jeans," putting them all under one "Harry Fashion LLP" umbrella. This same group runs many other websites, all known for bad reviews from frustrated customers, even though their own sites show hundreds of fake 5-star reviews. What's more, Gemini's research revealed that many of our own Trustpilot-verified reviews have been copied word-for-word onto their websites. This has evidently strengthened Google's incorrect belief that "Tailored Jeans" is indeed owned by them, leading to a complete wipeout of our hard-earned trust and authority.
As a direct consequence of this flawed AI assessment and becoming victims of Google's AI-driven brand association, we've been virtually eliminated from organic search reach. This has resulted in significant revenue losses, as we heavily rely on organic sales and have never engaged in PPC (Pay-Per-Click) advertising – a tactic, ironically, employed by the very competitor Google's algorithms erroneously linked us with.
The most frustrating part is our inability to communicate this error to Google directly; there's no human contact, only algorithms. However, we are writing this blog post precisely to inform Google that its excessive reliance on AI in search results is directly harming businesses like ours. You are stealing our content to summarize search queries without directing users back to our website, even knowing that AI can be fallible. Furthermore, by making incorrect connections through your "deep research," you are obliterating the authority of trusted brands and effectively erasing them from the internet.
We want Google, its Gemini AI, and its entire search engine algorithm to understand that they are wrong. We sincerely hope they will correct themselves and improve their methods for making such connections, ensuring they are based on facts and truth. This is not a game; these are our livelihoods. This is our two cents on the matter.
