How to get your jeans shirked? Learn with Tailored jeans.

We all have at least one pair of jeans we love, but our hearts are broken because they have grown out and become too baggy. Personally, I find that this happens to cheaper jeans all the time, like those you buy from ASOS, Topshop, River Island, etc., they match, to begin with, then stretch out and get saggy after a few wears. But what you can do to can your jeans? You’ve probably looked for advice online and looking for tips that everyone else is offering, I was shocked by the fact that everyone said they’re either boiling or washing them warm and they’re going to shrink. Let me describe some tips and tricks about this and why it depends entirely on the pants, the denim stretch, and why it’s not healthy for them all.

Based on the denim material, the short answer is yes and no.

Let me describe some tips and tricks about this and why it depends entirely on the pants, the denim stretch, and why it’s not healthy for them all.

Based on the denim material, the short answer is yes and no.

Cotton itself can withstand very high heat, which means that if your jeans are 100% cotton and have become too baggy, placing them on a hot wash and then drying them on high heat would certainly shorten them, with no harm to the jeans.

Heat damages manufactured stretch fabrics such as lycra, elastane and other stretch materials, which is why you should never wash spandex and stretch fabrics at high heat. The fabrics are torn and worn and the elasticity is lost. Never put jeans on a hot wash or a hot tumble dry with this type of content–you can hurt the stretch and make it even baggier

Polyester is another heat-related material that can be tricky. In a hotter atmosphere, though, polyester itself will shrink, as it is a form of polymer, if it gets too hot it will melt the fibers. So again, be very careful to mix jeans on high heat when washing and drying polyester. Make sure the temperatures are not boiling, so be mindful of them.

Is the heat could be ruining the color of the jeans?

Sure, sure! There are! Save and buy the right stretch of a luxury pair. I know it can be really costly for quality denim, but try to do your homework. There are brands out there that make jeans to never stretch, and that’s real!

If not washing the jeans then what to do o get stretched?

If your jeans are full of elasticity that gets damaged at high heat, you can do nothing quick and easy to shrink them easily, unfortunately. You may try to wash them on warm and dry on warm (not hot) and it may shrink them a bit, but be careful. Certain options are:

Tailored Jeans:

Yeah, you should take your jeans to the tailor and get them in. It depends on which areas are loose, but if the waist area is too wide you can put darts in the back (like this), or you can un-stitch and cut the legs, then sew them together again. If they’re your favorite jeans and they’re just too big, your tailor will know what to do.

Leggings underneath:

This could fit well if it’s winter. Wearing leggings below will stretch your jeans as there is less distance between your thighs and the denim. They’re well bulking them out. Just make sure that your leggings are cotton to breathe your hair.

So this is how you can get your jeans shrieked.
